Afraid To Change?

So was I..

I too was once where you probably are right now.

Struggling to get my arms around the confusing terminology and many fees and seemingly endless red tape so my company could take credit card payments.

I finally got started but eventually realized I was paying literally hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars a month more than I needed to. So, I looked and found a far better deal from a processor. Not the greatest but it could save us hundreds of dollars a month.

Like you, I was reluctant to change from "the devil I know." What if things went wrong? What if we couldn't take the cards for some reason? Since about 95% of our revenue came from credit card payments (some as large as $50,000.00), we were really nervous.

Well, we changed and it was simple and took about 20 minutes end to end. Today, it's even faster. But two things did happen:

  • The new company had far better technology for the Internet and their virtual terminal system was a dream compared to the clunker we had.
  • Our costs for taking credit cards dropped by about 35%, even more in some cases.
We found out our loyalty was costing us and we were suckers!

Go ahead and change. Today, it is amazingly easy to swap out your card processor. Ask yourself: Just how good of a business person are you if you throw away money?
